Abstract
The article analyzes current aspects of the direction of spatial history and the possibilities of their application in the educational process, based on the tasks of modern education. Opportunities of the modern teacher to apply regional and spatial approaches when presenting the educational material, textbooks institutions of general secondary education of Ukraine are reflected. The historical component of general secondary education provides pupils with basic knowledge about the main events in the history of Ukraine and the world, familiarization with the cultural values of the Ukrainian people and the world. Solution of these tasks involves providing educational material through the relationship between people and society, people and nature, people and space, like living environment. Analysis of textbooks on the history of Ukraine for 11th grade institutions of general secondary education will allow to trace the presence of regional-spatial approaches in the presentation of national history, develop methodological recommendations on the problems of regional analysis of key events, the importance of pupil`s spatial orientation in the formation of the historical component of educational knowledge and skills.
