Abstract
The article argues for the need to develop a new methodological scheme for explaining the historical past of Ukraine. Among the many variants of such a scheme, the concept of a multifrontier as a basis for the modern Ukrainian grand narrative looks promising. A historiographical analysis of scientific works created on the basis of the multifrontier concept is presented.
