Abstract

This article examines the main aspects of the personnel policy of the Soviet regime in the Central Committee of the Communist Party (Bolsheviks) of Moscow during the Stalin period (1944–1953). It reflects the change in the national composition of the Central Committee members, their number, the process of nominating women, including Moldovans, and the selection of personnel based on the experience of leadership, including in the position held. It shows Moscow's attempts to reduce the number of the republican nomenklatura, which turned out to be unsuccessful, since after a year or two it was restored to its previous size and continued to grow. The reasons for this process are considered. The period under consideration ends with a new large-scale reduction in the party nomenklatura in the first post-Stalin months.
