Abstract
Paleoclimatic studies for the Kyiv Dnipro region in the Scythian times is effective tool to reconstruct the settlement structure. For the Pidhirtsi groupe of sites the most problematic issue is the level of archaeological research, which determines the possibilities of the economy type reconstructions, development of the catchment areas of the settlements, and the impact on the paleolandscape.
The cooling and increasing of the humidity were observed in climate for the V century BCE. These factors led to the changes in the forest areas and waterlogging of the lowland areas of Southern Belarus. Thereby, anthropogenic activity has decreased because the population with slash-and-burn based economic occupied the Upper and partly the Middle Dnipro regions. The migrations influenced on the Pidhirtsi group of sites origin
